From Michelin-starred fine dining to casual fish tacos on the beach — our guide to the best places to eat and drink in Tofino, BC in 2025.
Tofino's Surprisingly World-Class Food Scene
For a town of fewer than 2,000 permanent residents, Tofino punches far above its weight when it comes to food. Hyper-fresh Pacific seafood, passionate chefs who chose Tofino for its lifestyle as much as its kitchens, and a community that takes quality seriously — the result is one of Canada's most exciting small-town food scenes.

Fine Dining
Wolf in the Fog
Canada's most celebrated restaurant outside of Vancouver and Toronto. Chef Nick Nutting has earned Wolf in the Fog a Michelin star and countless national accolades for his inventive Pacific Coast cuisine. Dungeness crab, local halibut, foraged greens, and hand-crafted cocktails all feature. Located upstairs on Main Street with views over the inlet — book as far in advance as possible, especially in summer.
1909 Kitchen
Set in a beautifully restored heritage building near the Tofino waterfront, 1909 Kitchen offers a seasonally driven menu that changes based on what's locally available. The wine list is outstanding, the service warm and unpretentious. Dinner reservations are essential from May through September.
Casual but Excellent
Shelter Restaurant
A Tofino institution and a favourite for groups. Shelter serves comfort food elevated with local ingredients — halibut and chips, Dungeness crab cakes, elk burgers, craft beer. Lively, welcoming, often with live music. Perfect after a day on the beach.
The Spotted Bear Bistro
The go-to for brunch in Tofino. Expect queues on summer weekends — they are absolutely worth it. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon is legendary. Great coffee, relaxed vibe, friendly staff.
Rhino Coffee
The best coffee in Tofino, full stop. A local institution that roasts its own beans. Come here for your morning ritual before heading to the beach. Often has excellent pastries too.

Seafood & Casual Bites
Fish Hook Tofino
The place for fish tacos and casual seafood on the go. Fresh, well-made, reasonably priced — perfect for a beach-day lunch. Don't miss the grilled halibut wrap.
Tofino Brewing Co.
Tofino's beloved craft brewery with a casual taproom and tours. Their Blonde Ale and Kelp Stout are local favourites. Relaxed atmosphere and a great spot for an afternoon pint after a surf session.
